THE MEMORIES ARE MADE - Lake St Clair to Hobart - 6 days a week.

(no minimum numbers)

Congratulations, you have conquered the Overland Track and had the time of your life.  Your feet are sore, you don’t want to see another dehydrated meal for some time, your pack has simply become an extension of your body and you have been thinking about your favorite food now for 3 days and how much you are going to enjoy it when you arrive back to the “real world”  You have found a calming satisfaction from being completely “disconnected” from your phone and emails for a week and hesitate to turn it back on (if only to let your Mum know you are alive and well)

Our regular passenger service from Lake St Clair to Hobart departs the Lake St Clair car park at the Visitor Centre at 2:00pm 6 days a week (not available on Sundays or Public Holidays). Our driver will have on board your luggage that you have stored with us for the time of your adventure so you can have a clean t-shirt and footwear that doesn’t require gaiters over the top.  This is also where you can return any hire gear you have booked with us for your trip (Lake St Clair Visitor Centre now has a free 5 minute hot shower available for bushwalkers)  Lake St Clair lodge also has a licenced bar and meals available including hot chips to die for.

We make our way to Hobart via Tarraleah (built in the 1930's by the Hydro Electric Commission) and Ouse where we can stop for a brief toilet break and something to eat, before making our way through New Norfolk (on the Derwent River) and then into Hobart where we will drop you off to your central accommodation from 5:30pm.

So what happens if you finish the track a day early or a day later than expected?  As we hold a regular passenger service and are the only daily service from Lake St Clair each day of the season, you can simply find us in the carpark from 1:45pm and ask our driver if there is any availability on that day for you to jump on.  As long as we do have some empty seats for you, we simply transfer your booking to that day at no additional cost.

All of our drivers are locals so we will happily advise you on the best places in town to get the meal of your choice and the best bars to go and have your celebratory drink.

To book your Lake St Clair to Hobart transport with us on our live booking calendar, simply select your departure date, the number of walkers in your group and your Hobart accommodation drop-off point (Unfortunately we do not drop-off at the Hobart airport but can drop you to the Skybus terminal) You can also add your Launceston to Cradle Mountain transport, any hire gear or products you wish to purchase from our website and then simply make payment for your booking.  You will instantly receive a confirmation email with all of your booking details.

Please note we do not drop-off to the Hobart airport, Wrest Point Casino, Sandy Bay or any other locations outside of the CBD. With Airbnb's we will of course do our best to drop you off at your accommodation but if there is not a safe drop-off zone for our bus and trailer, we will need to drop you to the closest safe location. If you are unsure if your accommodation is within the CBD drop-off zone, please feel free to email us to confirm.

Do you have a group booking of 7 or more?  Simply select the number of passengers in your booking  and your group discount will be applied for parties of 7 or more. Discounts apply for groups of 7 or more with one booking, one payment being made for the group and one drop off location in Hobart.

Are you planning on catching the ferry across Lake St Clair at the end of your adventure? If you do prefer to
catch the ferry, we recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.  Please book directly at Lake St Clair Ferry or on (03) 6289 1137

Are you planning walking around Lake St Clair at the end of your adventure? If you do prefer to walk around Lake St Clair, we recommend staying at Echo Point or Narcissus Hut on your last night to allow enough time to meet the 2:30pm departure to Launceston or Hobart.

We look forward to having you on board – Sean and Andrew, owners of Overland Track Transport
