Lake St Clair to Launceston (Private Transport)

Congratulations, you have conquered the Overland Track and had the time of your life.  Your feet are sore, you don’t want to see another dehydrated meal for some time, your pack has simply become an extension of your body and you have been thinking about your favourite food now for 3 days and how much you are going to enjoy it when you arrive back to the “real world”  You have found a calming satisfaction from being completely “disconnected” from your phone and emails for a week and hesitate to turn it back on (if only to let your Mum know you are alive and well)

Our regular daily passenger service from Lake St Clair back to Launceston departs the Lake St Clair car park at the Visitor Centre at 2:30pm each day (except for Christmas Day) Our driver will have on board your luggage the you have stored with us for the time of your adventure so you can have a clean t-shirt and footwear that doesn’t require gaiters over the top.  This is also where you can return any hire gear you have booked with us for your trip (Lake St Clair Visitor Centre now has a free 5 minute hot shower available for bushwalkers)  Lake St Clair lodge also has a licenced bar and meals available including hot chips to die for.

We make our way back to Launceston via the Great Lake (Tasmania’s Trout fishing heartland) where we can stop for a brief toilet break and something to eat, before winding our way down the Great Western Tiers at Poatina (one of only 2 hills in Tasmania with the European cycling classification of what a hill should be) We travel via the Launceston airport (drop offs at 5:15pm so if you wish to book a flight out of Launceston on that day, all flights from 6:15pm allow you enough time to arrive and check-in) and then into Launceston where we will drop you off to your central accommodation from 5:30pm.

All of our drivers are locals so we will happily advise you on the best places in town to get the meal of your choice and the best bars to go and have your celebratory drink. 

So what happens if you finish the track a day early or a day later than expected?  As we hold a regular passenger service and are the only daily service from Lake St Clair each day of the season, you can simply find us in the carpark from 2:00pm and ask our driver if there is any availability on that day for you to jump on.  As long as we do have some empty seats for you, we simply transfer your booking to that day at no additional cost.

*Our special departure service from Lake St Clair to Launceston is $550.00 to open up the service no matter how many walkers are in your party.  Once you have opened the "special departure" we will endevour to sell any remaining seats at $75.00 per person and you will be refunded $75.00 per each additional booking we take until your party has each paid only $75.00 per person (or $500.00 for a group of 7-13 passengers) refunds will be processed on the day of travel.
